nymph + -o- + -lepsy, after Greek nymphóleptos "possessed by nymphs, frenzied, enraptured," from nýmphē "bride, young wife, nymph of mythology" + -o- -o- + lēptós, verbal adjective of lambánein "to take hold of, seize" — more at latch entry 1
