: a group of symptoms that are caused by bilateral removal of the temporal lobes, that include excessive reactivity to visual stimuli, hypersexuality, diminished emotional responses, and memory deficits, and that have been induced experimentally in monkeys and have occurred in human patients who have severe injuries to the temporal lobes or who have undergone temporal lobe lobectomy
