Thyroid storm, also referred to as thyrotoxic crisis, represents a severe and potentially life-threatening condition. Although it is a relatively rare condition, occurring in only 1% to 2% of patients with hyperthyroidism, if left untreated, thyroid storm can be fatal, sometimes within days.Joseph J.
