Why are people looking up snitty?

What does snitty mean?

We define snitty as “disagreeably ill-tempered.” It should not be confused with lungeous (“ill-tempered; rough and violent”) or purdy (“disagreeably self-important”).

Where does snitty come from?

The origin of snitty is somewhat unclear, although there may be a connection with snit (“a state of agitation”). The shorter word has been in use since the 1930s, while snitty entered common parlance in the 1970s.
